Therapy Team:

Victoria (Cavaliere) Armas: Owner/Supervisor/Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist, BSW, MSW, RSW

As a registered Social Worker I hope to always create a space where clients feel safe, supported and understood. I work from a holistic, client-centred, trauma-informed, feminist lens when working with each person I meet.

Before I started my practice I worked in many diverse settings including residential treatment centres, hospitals and in the community. I learned how to work with many diverse populations and supported people who were really struggling in their lives as a result of unresolved trauma. I noticed how people were trying to cope in the best way they knew how, this sometimes showed up in the form of addiction, eating disoder behaviours, self-harm or suicidal ideation.

Working with clients in a community mental health setting really showed me  the severity of how ones mental health can really affect every aspect of their life, especially when it reaches the point of homelessness. Those experiences taught me just how essential mental health support is.

A big focus and interest in my practice includes eating disorders and trauma/PTSD, I often work with clients who struggle with both concurrently. I am a registered CPT and CBT-E therapist, I do offer a variety of other therapy modalities as well. I am also a certified Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) mental health provider.
